Inmate Leadership Division

Leadership Beyond the Walls

At MORE 2 US, we believe that incarceration does not eliminate a person’s ability to lead, mentor, or positively impact others. Every individual has the capacity to grow, serve, and contribute to their community.

The Inmate Leadership Division was established to provide incarcerated members with meaningful opportunities to develop leadership skills, encourage accountability, and support the rehabilitation of others while participating in the mission of MORE 2 US.

Our vision is to create a network of inmate leaders who serve as positive influences within their correctional institutions, communicate the needs and concerns of incarcerated members, and help strengthen the connection between correctional facilities and MORE 2 US.

Our Purpose

The Inmate Leadership Division exists to:

  • Promote leadership, responsibility, and personal growth among incarcerated members.

  • Encourage positive mentorship and peer support.

  • Communicate the needs, ideas, and concerns of incarcerated individuals to MORE 2 US.

  • Assist in identifying educational, rehabilitative, and community-building opportunities.

  • Help prepare incarcerated members for successful reentry into society.

We believe that leadership is demonstrated through service, integrity, accountability, and a commitment to helping others.

President of Inmate Affairs

The President of Inmate Affairs serves as the senior volunteer leader of the Inmate Leadership Division.

Working in accordance with the policies of the correctional institution, the President serves as the primary liaison between incarcerated members and MORE 2 US leadership. The President mentors institution representatives, helps review ideas submitted from within correctional facilities, identifies emerging needs, and provides valuable insight into the challenges and opportunities facing incarcerated individuals.

The President also helps foster a culture of accountability, encouragement, and positive leadership among MORE 2 US members inside the institution.

Institution Representatives

Institution Representatives serve as volunteer leaders within participating correctional facilities.

Their responsibilities may include:

  • Introducing eligible individuals to the mission of MORE 2 US.

  • Encouraging positive participation and personal development.

  • Sharing constructive ideas and recommendations.

  • Identifying needs and concerns within their institution.

  • Supporting fellow members through mentorship and encouragement.

  • Reporting information to the President of Inmate Affairs.

Together, these representatives help ensure that the voices of incarcerated members are heard and considered as MORE 2 US continues to grow.

Our Commitment

The Inmate Leadership Division is founded on the belief that every person deserves the opportunity to grow, lead, and contribute.

Leadership within MORE 2 US is based on character, accountability, service, and a commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others. All leadership roles within the Inmate Leadership Division are volunteer service positions and are carried out in accordance with the policies and procedures of the applicable correctional institution.

Through this division, MORE 2 US seeks to inspire hope, develop leaders, and demonstrate that positive change can begin wherever a person chooses to take responsibility for their future.
