Incarcerated

Imagine being incarcerated
taken away from humanity,
in circumstances so unimaginable
that you start to embrace insanity,

Time fly’s but stays still
true loyalty finds conditions,
independence grows in value
it proves to be a great invention,

Drugs help you to cope
but alter your views in life,
thoughts of revenge alone in a cell
just you and a homemade knife,

friends and family obituaries
lovers are never consistent,
promises of thru thick and thin
but distance is what creates the distance,

Paranoia makes you cautious
there is no trust while serving time,
still we seek peace from within
but from within its so hard to find..
